SBC plans for Wi-Fi Internet service
SBC Communications, the No. 2 U.S. local telephone company, on Wednesday unveiled a plan to offer a new Wi-Fi wireless Internet service to customers in 6,000 locations over the next three years.

SBC Communications, the No. 2 U.S. local telephone company, on Wednesday unveiled a plan to offer a new Wi-Fi wireless Internet service to customers in 6,000 locations over the next three years.
In a statement, San Antonio-based SBC said it plans to deploy more than 20,000 hot spots in hotels, airports, convention centers and other venues frequented by business customers in its 13-state territory by the end of 2006.
