eMachines introduces trio of ET mini-tower desktop PCs; $299 to $449

eMachines on Wednesday introduced three new mini-tower PCs priced from $299 to $449, reminding budget-conscious consumers everywhere that bargains on desktops are greater than ever.

The eMachines ET1300-02, ET1810-01 and ET1810-03 desktop PCs stand in gleaming white regalia accented by green LED lighting, and can be bundled with a matching keyboard and widescreen display with built-in speakers.

The systems, which are good for the home, home office or possibly college, include AMD (Athlon X2 dual-core) or Intel (Pentium dual-core or Celeron) processors and 2GB or 3GB of DDR2 memory. They also sport Nvidia graphics (integrated GeForce 7050, or GeForce G100) and come with either 160GB or 320GB hard drives. A media hub on the case helps congregate the systems' many ports (see below) for quick access.

The monitor that comes with the new eMachines is the E182H wm 18.5-inch widescreen LCD display, which has 720p HD support, a 10,000:1 contrast ratio and 5ms response time. Maximum resolution is 1366x768 and brightness clocks in at 300 cd/m2. It has a VGA input.
